The Canadian Machine Tools Association (CMTEA) said Friday it has hired a new executive director to help the company expand its operations and improve its manufacturing capabilities.
“CMTEAs goal is to become a major global player in the machine tools market and this executive will assist the company in this endeavour,” said spokesperson Paul Wiebe in a statement.
“The CMEA will continue to work closely with its partner manufacturers to ensure that all of its products meet the high standards set out by the CMEAs global standards and the CMTEA is committed to helping all CMEs fulfill their potential.”
CMTEAs first manufacturing facility, the Ontario facility, opened in September 2016.
It currently has eight employees.
CMTE has made a number of acquisitions in recent years, including acquiring a global supplier of parts to power some of its high-end machines.
In 2016, the company also acquired a Canadian-based company that makes parts for high-performance computer and video game machines.
CMTA also operates a small facility in Quebec.
