LONDON — The Japanese government is selling Japanese-made tools that are used to build bombs for sale online for as little as $8 an ounce.
The Japanese government’s website says the items are made in Kobe, Japan, by the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Co. and are sold online for just $8 each.
But it also includes a picture of a Fuji machine tool, a product made in Japan that was designed to be used as a tool for scraping metal.
It says the Fuji product is made of a “highly flexible alloy, a highly porous material, and the type of resin used in the fuji process is highly resistant to corrosion and rust.”
Fuji said the company sells the products online at a discount because they are made from “high quality” materials and are not prone to corrosion.
Fuji has about 2,000 employees and manufactures machine tools for a range of companies including auto parts makers, chemical manufacturers, oil and gas companies, and aerospace companies.
